JFK Inaugural Address Rhetorical psychoanalysis
President John F. Kennedy presented a very compelling idiom to Americans and citizens of the world after being sworn-in to office on January 20, 1961, the date of the Cold War. This was a continuing state of political and force tension between the powers of the Western world. Citizens trembled with fear of nuclear power. Kennedys hopes were to tell the races and set peace thought his talking to. His inauguration speech was so effective that it captured the entire nations fear by the use of rhetorical devises such as antithesis, anaphora and imperative sentences to help him strengthen his purpose of unity and reassure Americans that their freedom would be upheld.

John F. Kennedy begins his startup speech by using antithesis to emphasize the importance of his conquest in the presidential race. Kennedy describes his victory as symbolizing an end, as healthy as a beginning -- signifying renewal, as well as change. This helps him create his purpose that he is going to wear action but still hold onto the beliefs of our founding fathers.
