Born in 1971, he was unmatchable of 2 of his mothers eleven children to survive into adulthood. His first engagement was the attack on fortification Ticonderoga in New York. He was successful in the operation still most of the credit went to Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys.
At the sentence of the battles of Saratoga, Benedict Arnold had already established a reputation of courageousness and being in the thick of any action.
His capture of Fort Ticonderoga, the epic march up the Kennebec River to Quebec and the naval engagement at Valcour Island were already legendary in the new country.
