The first question that springs to my mind, is, how do we know what is real and what isnt?
This raises the issue of the rendering of real and whether one believes the nature of reality to be indispensable or objective, and to what extent.
One more relevant conundrum is the question of what makes things real. In The Matrix, it implies a state of objective reality where what you experience is itself. This can only go so remote as the human is a sensory creature in that we do not hear, we detect vibrations and that we do not see, our marrow nerves detect light. This is similar to the philosophical riddle, if a corner falls in a forest, does it make a survive? A drug addict with a warped perceive of reality can have a different reality to everybody else in any practical way, but that is only his perception.
