The Natures of Evil
Throughout the novel The violent Letter, written by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the natures and symbols of offensive greatly show. Together, hate and lovemaking combine to create the result of evil. Evil shows in some of the main characters such as ivory Prynne, Hester Prynne, Arthur Dimmesdale, Roger Chillingworth, and Mistress Hibbins. A symbol of the devil and his temptations is the Black Man. He is everlasting(a) evil and is seen in musical compositiony of the characters by their actions and choices. Overall, there is no doubt that the characters repeatedly change their personalities that ultimately shows the embodiment of evil throughout the novel.
Throughout her childhood years in Boston, osseous tissue Prynne is thought to be the devils child because of her actions and by her elevated communication with others at such a newborn age. The townspeople say that she barely acts or even seems human. An object lesson of Pearls educated personality is when she asks her mother, Was that the same minister that kissed me by the brook? Hold thy peace, dear little Pearl! whispered her mother.
We must not ceaselessly talk in the market-place of what happens to us in the forest (Hawthorne 215). In general, Pearl always fascinates on the scarlet letter, which is the symbol of evil itself in the novel. She touches and laughs at it making her own mother, Hester, become ashamed and embarrassed of the infract that she commits, adultery. This shows how Pearl can act different from others and evil in regards to hurting her own mother. Once her fathers indistinguishability is revealed, Pearl is no longer the symbolic form of evil. As a result, Pearl fully becomes human after Arthur Dimmesdales death that leaves her preternatural visions behind.
