Should the Endangered species Act be built? That is the question that many have found to be a debatable issue. On one side you have more or less saying that we should strengthen the act so we continue to nurture species that are stable and declining. This program is already working and we could do so much so much faster. It is important to be able to pass on the nations wildlife hereditary pattern to our children. (Easton, 2009) On the other side you have those that say that all we need to do is re-direct the focus, non increase it.
In this instrument both sides forget be stated with information and manifest to support both sides. In the end you will be able to make an educated decision based on what you are about to read. First, we need to identify what the Endangered Species Act is, and what are some of the issues that are addressed.
The Endangered Species act was enacted in 1973 by Congress. This was to give the federal government the responsibility to foster endangered species, threatened species, and critical habitats. (www.nwf.org) This act has lists of endangered plants and animals not only nationally but also worldwide.
When a species is rigid on the list it receives special protection from the federal government. This is locate into place to keep plant and animal species from becoming extinct. The direct goal of the ESA is to make species populations healthy and vital so they cigaret be delisted from the Act. (www.nwforg)
This act is very important to save these listed species from expiry extinct. Once a species goes extinct they are gone for good. This could base major disaster for the rest of the ecosystem, due to the effects will be felt throughout the food chain. (www.nwf.org)
