He shows throughout his paper the effect Hurricane Katrina had on New Orleans and the community who lived there. In writing his analyse he uses several different rhetorical strategies in which he builds his arguments. Ethos, Logos and Pathos are his key strategic elements utilize to reach his readers: however he focuses mainly on Pathos.
In his ethos approach he tries to convey a since of what might pull in taken place but has a with child(p) term getting his point across except the fact that he lived there. Ford describes in his essay the way things used to be and what it was like as I child, yet its hard to explain because what was then and now is hard for him to place a value on whether or not his memories hold dependable to his argument.
Ford has fond favorable memories and as a child he describes these memories as one of his favorites. He tries to convey these memories as best as he can but finds it gruelling because of the lasting effect Hurricane Katrina had on New Orleans and the people who lived there.
