As judgment of conviction goes on, you experience to lose yourself little by little. In William Goldings unexampled Lord of the Flies, a group english boys crash onto a deserted island. All the boys unified as one to survive, single to split into two sides later on. As the two sides start to become less united there was less order and a liveliness a of savagery begun. This new life of savagery and chaos shows the loss of innocence. As the story progresses Golding uses umpteen symbols like the character Jack, the hobo camp, the death of Simon and the change of weapons to portray and sway this loss of innocence.
The loss of innocence is easily portrayed by dint of character Jack. He is very snotty nosed and vox populi very highly of himself. Later on he transformers into a complete savage. In the beginning of his transformation he starts to hound for pigs, as if its his drug. Not only is his personality changing, but his go through is starting to transform. He paints his face with pigs blood and wears less clothing. He also starts to become a dictator from forming a belittled army to [rising] from the log that was his throne and sauntered to the edge of the grass (Golding. Ch.9. pg.150). William Golding unfeignedly tries and succeeds at symbolizing Jack as the theme, the loss of innocence.




The jungle is very symbolic in showing the loss of innocence. The hobo camp is where all the savagery is taken place throughout the story. The boys were lookup day by day. From world in a emit to killing pigs shows the transformation of character. It was a place where anything could happen, for that it made the boys very paranoid. Before they would not hurt a fly, but being on the island for so long evolved them into savages yelling, kill the pig! sting his throat! Kill the pig! Bash him in!(Golding. Ch.7) This paraphrase shows the evil that has consumed them physically and emotionally. Therefore, the jungle is the place where the boys innocence transform into evil.
