Power of Propaganda
Propaganda is all around society. It can be intoxicaten on television, displayed in magazines and broadcasted on the radio. Propaganda can drastically impact a society if used correctly. The novel Animal Farm compose by George Orwell commemorates how a figure in power, or pigs in the book, can use propaganda to manipulate and influence the animals to strengthen their spot: they do this by using such propaganda techniques as Nationalism, concern Mongering and Smoke and Mirrors.
Throughout the novel Orwell displays issueism especially by Old Major and Napoleon. sensation of the first sign of nationalism in the book devolves from the speech Old Major gives the animals in the farm All men atomic number 18 enemies. All animals are comrades (Orwell 6). This is one of the first times in the novel we see the animals coming to stunher as a whole and show unity. Nationalism can be displayed in many ways. Countries around the world use a flag to hold still for their uniqueness and independence between to each one other.
By creating their own flag the animals are becoming to a greater extent as a nation, separating themselves from the men and the other farms. Furthermore the pigs decide to choose a commonality color to represent the green fields of England and put a hoof and horn to symbolize the republic of animals. Moreover citizens who are proud of where they live and come from are often very nationalistic. After one of the battles the animals are very glum but, when they heard the gun booming and dictum the green flag fluttering at the masthead, their hearts bountiful with imperishable pride, (87, 88).
